Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing innovative recipes for the WS Brand for all channels in collaboration with merchants to drive product sales and education for the customer. They are responsible for managing the Test Kitchen and will establish Williams-Sonoma as the home cooking authority by bringing innovative ideas and creative ways to cook to the customer.

Specific Responsibilities

* Develop, execute and test recipes for retail, catalog and internet divisions to include recipes for: retail feature cards; catalogs (printed and non-printed/styling, DC/DS cards); product packaging; marketing collateral (booklets, newsletter, etc.); and internet "bugs" and special features.
* Write recipes and liaise with editor to ensure accuracy and clarity.
* Test products to ensure quality and usability; review resulting product instructions for clarity and accuracy.
* Attend relevant meetings (catalog design, marketing collateral, internet planning) as needed to share information that will result in recipe development and/or product testing.
* Maintain test kitchen operations: order and stock food and cookware products for recipe development and product testing; coordinate schedule with merchants for tests and tastings; maintain sanitation with support from janitorial service and Bay Café.
* Other projects as assigned.


* Culinary experience required. Culinary degree and 3-5 years related culinary experience strongly preferred. At a minimum, 5 years culinary industry experience required.
* Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Broad knowledge of food and culture.
* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Bachelors/ Associates degree a plus.
