About the Team

You will be part of the Inventory Management team for the Cutlery department. Our team is responsible for the strategic planning of our inventory position to drive sales, manage inventory turn and meet or exceed financial targets. You will collaborate with other business functions to support a product strategy intended to meet our customer's needs

About the Role

Assistant Planners support the business with the tactical responsibilities of supply/demand management- tracking purchase orders from point of origin to our Distribution Center, monitoring transfers, and preparing reports that help enable the team to make intelligent business decisions. As mastery is achieved in these areas, Assistant Planners will then be introduced to advanced Planning strategy and responsibilities, including Planning ownership of a product category. This role reports to a Planner.

* Work with your Planner to monitor sales and inventory levels and adjust purchase orders accordingly to drive sales and profitability
* Coordinate the creation and communication of purchase orders for a department
* Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure on time delivery
* Amend purchase orders and communicate changes to agent/vendor, ensuring confirmation of such changes
* Enter and track inventory transfers for RTL/DTC and Outlet divisions
* Prepare and distribute weekly reports to the team
* Expand upon your presentation skills in weekly meetings with the greater Housewares team

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* You have a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
* You are a true business owner, comfortable with decision making and calculating risk
* You are detail oriented and have an analytic mindset

* You can manage multiple tasks at a time and execute responsibilities in a timely manner

Technical Competencies required:

* Strong computer skills in MS business applications including MS Office, Excel, Word and Access
* Strong understanding of reporting and forecasting
