JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB REQ -- SUPPLY CHAIN ARCHITECT

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a self-driven, high-performing Supply Chain Architect to develop a macro view of current and future state application architecture that is well connected with the business strategy for Merchandising and planning applications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Develop a road map based on business and customer needs, technology trends and innovation. Identify the business requirements that affect the business/application architecture and provide solutions that fit into the overall architectural vision
* Provide thought leadership in innovation, developing standards, architectural governance, and architectural best practices.
* Develop and demonstrate architecture subject matter expertise focused on Merchandising & Planning applications. Prior experience in other retail cross-functional areas such as Allocation and Forecasting is highly desired.
* Work with other IT staff and review business requirements, solution alternatives, designs, and standards compliance. Train, guide and mentor other IT staff in adapting IT standards, best practices to provide superior quality solutions for business requirements.
* Infuse architectural concepts like reusability, standards-based, configuration driven, scalable and manageable solutions. Provide support to other IT staff in high priority issue resolution

* Consult with application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate project needs.
* Lead development of conceptual and architectural solution blueprint for assigned projects to meet business requirements while ensuring compliance with established architectural principles, standards, and processes.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline
* Proven track record of highly seasoned, senior level resource who has led multiple projects and delivered business benefits. 10+ years experience in IT, with at least the last 3 years in enterprise, solution or application architecture-related roles specific to the Retail industry.
* Experience working for a national retailer with multiple distribution centers
* Ability to develop a strategic vision & roadmap within a business portfolio & architecture space
* Solid understanding of overall retail functional verticals with emphasis on merchandising & planning applications.
* Experience in working with and implementation of packaged applications for retail such as RMS, RA , ReSA , RDF and Planning is highly desired
* Experience in participating in and influencing vendor selection of packaged applications including contribution to RFPs
* Strong analytical, problem solving, and modeling skill
* Ability to develop system concepts, logical architectures, solution options, pros and cons of options
* Demonstrated ability to execute basic financial analysis, such as ROI
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to influence and lead by example
