JOB DESCRIPTION

Sr. Global Procurement Manager

The Sr. Global Procurement Manager is responsible for identifying, recommending and implementing strategic initiatives that focus on cost savings and cost avoidance in the procurement of indirect goods and services. Categories include but are not limited to corporate/store supplies, utilities, waste management, corporate fleet program, production center, and spend management/e-procurement systems. The Sr. Global Procurement Manager will provide procurement support to the Director of Procurement identifying and delivering savings & value adding opportunities related to assigned categories.

This position maintains the front line interface with our key suppliers and internal business partners to ensure the lowest cost, highest quality products and services, and superior customer service are delivered throughout the WSI global organization. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and an expert in strategic sourcing and supply chain management techniques. The Sr. Global Procurement Manager will have lead accountability to execute category strategies and procurement initiatives.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

* Strategic price and contract negotiations. Manage negotiations, pricing, quality & availability. Research market intelligence & make strategic recommendations for purchasing components. Knowledge of raw materials price markets. Forecast price trends and their impact on future purchases.
* Lead procurement processes for utilities and waste management contracts (tendering, bid evaluation and review, negotiations, contracts). Identify and drive sustainability initiatives.
* Partner with Utilities Management Service, Accounts Payable, and Repairs and Maintenance on daily tasks for maintaining utilities and waste management programs for corporate facilities and stores including invoicing/payments, repairs & maintenance inquiries, shut off and supplier notices, and more.
* Manage corporate production center and fleet programs and identify and recommend strategic cost savings/avoidance initiatives.
* Manage relationship with cloud based spend management/e-procurement vendor and develop strategic initiatives to increase adoption rates and efficiencies across the organization.
* Manage corporate/store office supply and janitorial/sanitation programs.
* Develop and maintain category strategy to meet category objectives: Best cost, quality, service and resilience. Ensure that the category strategy aligns with WSI current and future needs. Document and communicate category strategy to Director of Procurement and other leadership and stakeholders.
* Leverage support teams and tools to effectively and efficiently execute targeted cost savings and achieve results against established milestones.
* Develop close working relationships with suppliers to support demanding and fluctuating project timelines.
* Benchmark suppliers against metrics to assure logistic and cost performance.
* Establish vendor management process to monitor and improve vendor performance as appropriate. Be the lead contact for suppliers in these categories, working in close partnership with internal teams
* Identify sourcing and other savings opportunities within assigned indirect spent categories and collaborate with cross functional project teams to identify global strategic sourcing initiatives.
* Develop and maintain a portfolio of "best in class" suppliers and assess supplier market.
* Develops supplier scorecards, service level agreements, and key performance indicators.
* Lead contract negotiations and manage the competitive bidding process for identified opportunities.

* Manage and develop Sr. Purchasing Agent.

* Partner with Legal to ensure all vendor contracts are current and compliant.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

* 5+ years of procurement experience, retail preferred.
* Experience managing utilities and waste programs preferred.
* Seasoned Procurement skill set required; i.e. analytics, buy strategies and tactical implementation.
* Analytical thinking - Ability to quickly analyze data and transform it into meaningful insights.
* Solid understanding of financial analysis and cost modeling.
* Strong Interpersonal skills - ability to work effectively as part of a team in an unstructured environment; comfortable and effective in influencing at all levels; ability to tactfully give/receive constructive feedback.
* Drive for Results- invigorated by challenges; willing to take risks and tackle large, complex tasks; ability to manage and work within a dynamic environment.
* Creative -- Inquisitive attitude, can identify new and better ways; active external learner that takes advantage of ideas, best practices, and solutions developed elsewhere.
* Highly Collaborative in carrying out strategic initiatives, fostering active participation across internal departments/ all stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, proficient in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

* Solid understanding of procurement strategies and experience in developing selection criteria, building survey questions (in RFI, RFP, RFQ), understanding cost structures, designing pricing and savings methodologies, evaluating responses and facilitating supplier selection with cross functional teams.

* Strategic thinking - Ability to formulate and translate strategies into plans that can be effectively executed and resolve recurring tactical/operational issues.
* Proven effective negotiation and influencing skills.
* Execution - persistent drive for results utilizing sound project management, organizational and problem solving skills.
