About the Team

You will be part of the growing in-house Digital Marketing team responsible for developing strategies and optimizing William-Sonoma, Inc.'s digital spend across all 8 Brands and International efforts. Our job is to work closely with our Brand and external partners to lead the strategy and setup and optimization of our campaigns, in order to meet the goals of each individual brand, as well as the business as a whole--focusing largely on DR campaigns driving efficient sales.

About the Role

The Senior Manager of Display Strategy and Planning will lead the team responsible for developing the open web display strategies for prospecting as well as the overarching remarketing investment strategy. You will lead the transition of WSI's open web prospecting programs from agency management to an in-house team, working directly with the agency, the DSP, and the internal Programmatic and Ad Operations teams to build out processes while hiring and growing a team. You will lead publisher discovery and the vetting, development, and implementation of new and current strategies to drive efficient revenue and new customer growth while ensuring ads are on brand appropriate sites and portray the aesthetics of the WSI brands. You will oversee the allocation of budgets by partner for both prospecting and retargeting including revenue and spend forecasts and analysis and insights to measure and improve program effectiveness. You will take a leadership role in WSI Cross-brand digital initiatives and within the Digital team. You will lead the Display Strategy team, managing the career development of 4 Analysts.

* Lead the team on seasonal and special campaign media plan development for WSI. Includes strategic planning, rate negotiation, tactical balance throughout the purchase funnel, and evaluating new opportunities (site direct, private exchanges, programmatic targeting strategies, etc.)

* Allocate multi-million dollar budgets across different publishers, maximizing eComm and Retail revenue while balancing awareness/ top of the funnel KPIs
* Translate Brand goals into strategic media solutions that grow our Brands and prioritize key business initiatives in a Brand enhancing manner
* Manage multiple vendors, display publishers, and DSPs to ensure campaign performance is in line with performance goals and budget is pacing on track. Determine KPI goals by campaign and work with partners to ensure expectations are met
* Negotiate PMP placements and direct site buys to ensure high quality inventory and contextually relevant sites
* Vet new campaign ideas. Collaborate with internal Brand eCommerce partners, and align Brand vision and key stories with media plan, and work directly with Customer Relationship Management team to fund
* Partner with internal Display Ad Operations Team to ensure accurate campaign knowledge pre-launch with a focus on implementation of all online advertising campaign elements in a timely and accurate manner
* Partner with internal Programmatic team on campaign goals, optimization strategies, and budget allocation
* Work with internal and external partners to closely manage budgets and forecast revenue & spend
* Lead team in providing regular updates on performance, strategies, and recommendations
* Manage monthly invoices and accrual processes across display
* Lead team on creative trafficking E.g. Develop/maintain procedures for ad creative trafficking between Brand creative teams and the Ad Operations team to ensure banners are updated seasonally and on-time
* Lead rollout plan and testing strategy for dynamic creative in prospecting campaigns, collaborating with CRM, Brand, and Programmatic partners on a testing roadmap
* Lead testing with on-boarder partner for houseful targeting and suppression, including contract negotiations, vendor management, and Cross-Brand testing roadmap
* Collaborate with Analytics and Database Teams to leverage customer segments for specialized targeting and on advanced attribution reporting
* Educate Brand partners on best practices, platform and process changes, and on new strategies
* Create presentations on performance, strategy and industry updates and share with various levels of the WSI organization
* Keep up-to-date with industry trends and be the WSI subject matter on online display marketing
* Manage the career objectives and work product of 4 Marketing Analysts

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We're excited about you because you have...

* 5+ years experience in display media planning
* Technical aptitude and ability to converse clearly with multiple WSI teams

* Direct experience with DSPs (Google DoubleClick Bid Manager, Amobee, MediaMath, etc.)
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.)
* Strong Analytics expertise and experience in digital analytics and/or audience data management platforms (DMP). Ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations and communicate outcomes
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to synthesize technical detail and communicate to all levels across the organization
* Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Prior people management experience

* Strong project management skills and ability to quickly react to changing priorities and deadlines
* Well-organized, high attention to detail, deadline-oriented

* Enjoys working with others as part of a team
