About the Team

You will be part of the Corporate Accounting team responsible for timely and accurate internal reporting of financial results, a seamless month-end financial close, technical accounting research and execution, external audit management and public financial reporting and SEC filings. Specifically, the Sr. Revenue Accountant will be responsible for the accounting for all direct-to-consumer (e-commerce) revenue.

About the Role

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is looking for an ideal candidate to fill our Sr. Revenue Accountant position based out of our headquarters in San Francisco, California. The ideal candidate is someone who is both detail oriented but who can also see the big picture and work with our supply chain and brand finance teams on operational changes impacting our revenue streams. Responsibilities will include reviewing and reconciling system generated transactions, preparing journal entries related to revenue generation, helping prepare the monthly revenue forecast and annual budgets for various revenue accounts, assisting with revenue related disclosures within our SEC filings and liaising with our business partners in the supply chain and brand finance organizations. In addition, this role will be participating in, and eventually becoming the point person for, decisions related to system changes that impact our e-commerce revenue processes.

* Validate sales posting and prepare monthly reconciliation of e-commerce sales and COGS.
* Work closely with various internal business partners in order to analyze and reconcile accounts.
* Prepare journal entries for other revenues, sales and COGS adjustments.
* Analyze and reconcile customer liability balances and other related accounts.
* Calculate, record and reconcile sales return reserves.
* Prepare and review forecasts and budgets for components of our e-commerce revenues
* Assist with designing and testing changes to the -e-commerce sales platform.
* Provide quarterly and annual support to internal and external auditors and SOX teams.
* Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and update documentation as necessary.
* Streamline existing processes to improve efficiency.
* Support manager to complete special projects as assigned.

We're excited about you because...

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
* 3-5 years (or more) experience in accounting, previous revenue accounting experience a plus
* Very strong attention to detail and a love for digging into processes to better understand them, with an ability to also see and explain the big picture
* An ability to efficiently provide high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
* Demonstration of organizational and planning skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
* Ability to communicate openly and collaborate with many different business partners within the accounting, brand finance and supply chain organizations.
* Ability to interact with high level executives in a clear and concise manner
* Accountable and able to work independently to achieve deadlines

Extended hours during close week as well as quarter/ year-end will be required

Technical Competencies required:

* Strong Excel skills required
