Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst/Sr. Data Engineer

About the Role...

Williams-Sonoma Inc is looking for a Sr. BI Analyst/Sr. Data Engineer to help develop, scale, and communicate reporting and analytics efforts. In this role, you will work with our Retail and Talent teams to determine business problems and provide analytical solutions through data insights.

Working on the People Analytics team, you will be instrumental in the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of people analytics. You will be responsible for ensuring that our data systems are engineered for greater flexibility and reuse. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in translating business problems into persuasive insights.

* Translate data trends and insights into a meaningful story to drive strategy, action, recommendations, and data-driven decision-making
* Analyze and validate internal consistency, completeness and accuracy of people data systems
* Create self-service dashboards and reports for our Talent and Retail teams
* Development and management of automated reports, dashboards, and HR data warehouse
* Act as a resource to the team on various people data related questions

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Key Qualifications

* Self-starter, quick learner, great team player, and continuous improvement attitude
* Strong SQL skills (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
* Strong data analytics and Python skills (e.g. pandas, numpy, etc.)
* Strong data visualization skills and developing real-time dashboards (e.g. Tableau/Power BI)
* Strong Excel skills (vlookup, hlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
* Experience with forecasting, statistical modelling and machine learning (e.g. KNN, Regression, Decision trees, etc.)
* Exceptional attention to detail to ensure high degree of accuracy in reports and data analysis
* Data-driven mindset and strong analytical skills with ability to solve problems strategically
* Possess a strong work ethic and commitment in delivering results to the organization
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audience at all levels within an organization

Nice to Haves

* Experience with data warehousing and ETL (e.g. SSIS)
* Experience with business intelligence tools such as Crystal Reports and Business Objects
* Experience with analyzing people data
