About the Role

Provide Human Resources support and consultation to a variety of client partners within Corporate Technology. This Manager, HR Business Partner will report to the Vice President, Talent/Human Resources - Technology and will have responsibility for specific sectors of the Technology client group and joint responsibility delivering projects and programs across the client group. The Manager will facilitate department-wide programs and initiatives that impact the business. This position is based in our San Francisco, CA office and will also work out of our Rocklin, CA and/or San Jose, CA offices a couple to a few days per month based upon business need. Additional travel to other locations may be necessary on an occasional basis.

* Develop a partnership with client(s) through effective consultation and support that is aligned with business initiatives, including organizational design and change needs
* Provide coaching and counseling to management, associates, and peers in order to enhance individuals and business knowledge.
* Construct and lead projects that support and impact the business.
* Complete needs assessment, design unique programs and delivery methods that meet the needs of the business. Determine need for training and development to address business, morale, or other needs.
* Coordinate on-boarding processes to enhance new associate experience, including partnership with hiring managers and other team members.
* May facilitate New Hire and Manager Orientation on HR policies and processes, and other educational sessions as needed.
* Performs administrative duties to ensure the accuracy of employee records and to create reports, analyze data, and make recommendations to associates on key issues and next steps for special projects, e.g. performance management tracking, succession planning process, turnover reporting.
* Support employee relations through proactive and, as necessary, reactive interventions with employees and management confidentially and fairly.
* Conduct exit interviews, turnover analysis and create action plans to address turnover issues with business partners.
* Develop, support and communicate policies and procedures. Ensure compliance by keeping current with regulatory environment.
* Lead and participate in projects to support global HR initiatives, recognition, and associate engagement.
* Lead and participate in staffing and recruiting initiatives.
* Consult as required regarding decisions involving promotions, terminations, transfers, etc.
* Coach through all aspects of performance management process from goal setting through appraisal and performance counseling process.
* Assess proposed job duties and recommend appropriate visa classifications. Assist with preparation of appropriate documentation for obtaining, maintaining and extending visa status for non-immigrant employees while ensuring adherence to immigration guidelines for the processing of non-immigrant visas. (i.e. B-1, L-1, F-1, J-1, O, TN/TD, H-1B, Green Card, etc)
* Partner with client groups on job design and evaluation, including career architecture/job family development and updates.
* Coordinate salary analysis, advise management on incentive/variable pay plans, and stay current with market practices.
* Partner with HR Specialist functions (records, staffing, compensation, training etc.) in order to meet various objectives and facilitate resolution of employee issues.

* Bachelor's degree preferably in HR, Business, Psychology, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience
* 5-7 years professional level Human Resources experience, preferably within a technology group
* Collaborative, agile, and curious; strong passion for continuous learning
* Proficient in federal and CA state laws, company policies and procedures
* Practiced at independently coaching and counseling managers and leadership at all levels on complex and/or unique employee relation situations
* Demonstrated ability to exercise integrity and sound judgment in complex and sensitive situations
* Proven track record of quickly establishing and maintaining productive, trust-based and effective relationships across a variety of levels and with diverse client groups
* Consistent history of accurately diagnosing and successfully handling employee relations and organizational development issues
* Resourceful, creative, detail-oriented, and results and data driven
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be a direct and thoughtful communicator; ability to influence and articulate point of view
* Experienced working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and comfortable with change and ambiguity. Anticipates and strategically plans for changing business needs
* Proactively recognizes risks and utilizes appropriate resources to achieve results
* Confident facilitating and presenting to groups of various sizes, determines best delivery method
* Skilled at leading initiatives and program managing from beginning to end.
* Strong computer knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred.
* Employment-based visa/immigration experience is a plus.
* PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
