About the Role

As the Buyer, PB Global you will manage a Division of the Pottery Barn brand, responsible for the management of specific product categories and are the manager of key franchise partners and region of the world. Our job on the Pottery Barn Global team is to bring the US presentation of the brand to life within each global market. We work to maintain the brand identity while making strategic adjustments to the assortment and presentation specific to each market in order to maximize sales potential and profitability.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

* Provide guidance & deliver on financial plans for your category & Franchisees business (Growth %, Sales, MMU$, Inventory). Develop seasonal + foundational assortment strategies and lead the planning & execution both pre-season and in season.
* Partner with logistics teams (QA, testing, shipping) to clear road blocks to successful sales and execution.
* Manage information across functions working closely with Inventory Management, Sourcing, Product Design, Production, Packaging and Creative Services to ensure the process is followed and timelines met.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external brand partners.
* Represent the Pottery Barn brand and be able to share product knowledge, sales information and make recommendations to external (Franchise) partners based on thorough financial analysis to drive their success.
* Make recommended assortment changes using market knowledge, competitive details and sales analysis to maximize sales potential by market.
* Provide Order Management with final assortment plans (line lists), product details, ELC/ALCs, for developing purchase projections and buy plans.
* Participate in visual mapping process to ensure floor plan direction supports market-specific and store-specific visual display and sales plans.
* Recommend effective processes and procedures to support market growth, workflow, and delivering results.
* Provide leadership and ongoing training and development to create positive team environment.
* Responsible for in season management of a category, and OTB management in partnership with Franchise team.
* Drive retail store & ecommerce execution of your Franchisee; recommend marketing and signage execution. Close partnership with store Visual, Store operations and Ecommerce marketing teams.
* Provide insights & guidance on promo and markdown strategies to Franchise partner to ensure inventory targets and sales are met each season.
* Review & advise pricing strategy through in depth competitive and market analysis

* 5-10 years retail merchandising/buying or retail home furnishings planning experience
* 2+ years people management experience
* Strong Excel skills (pivots, formulas, data sourcing)
* Presentation skills required
* Strong understanding of the brand customer and aesthetic
* International experience preferred -- travel required
