The Williams-Sonoma Supply Chain Engineering organization is seeking an energetic and talented Solution Architect to deliver high value, high-quality business capabilities to our Order Management Systems. And keep the product advancing by incorporating the newest features to the product while ensuring that the features released are working as advertised. What you will do...

* Be the binding factor between various teams: business, engineering and delivery and projects a single view to the clients
* Keep the product advancing by incorporating the newest features to the product while ensuring that the features released are working as advertised
* Have a deep domain knowledge in the retail/supply chain spheres to both help the engineering team build to the future as well as to anticipate/know with reasonable accuracy what the clients will need to make them functional in the real world
* Provide technical guidance to the project delivery team, product engineering team and the client
* Take ownership for all the technical escalations within the project and product feature, the role has overall ownership of all technical aspects through the lifecycle of the client relationship or product enhancement including the maintenance phase
* Mentor and provide guidance to project delivery and engineering resources in the team, both onsite and offshore
* Responsible for software development plans with a specific focus on quality and delivery efficiency
* Participates in design reviews with the client, project delivery team and the product engineering team
* Define Performance and Scalability requirements for the product features being deployed to meet the clients' peak business requirements. And assist clients with infrastructure and interface architecture strategy
* Manage the development plan with respect to the skills, resources and the training required to ensure smooth delivery of the product enhancements or project deliveries

Responsibilities Also Include...

* Understand and analyze the clients' existing technology landscape
* Craft the technology and architecture vision and roadmap required for driving the clients' enterprise transformation
* Create detailed architecture including recommendations for integrations, API / micro-services enablement, cloud migration, etc.
* Partners with other technical teams (middleware, database, infrastructure, etc.), create interface documents and mappings to ensure that the OMS is built in a Service Oriented Architecture manner

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Who you are and what you can do...

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology

* 5-8 years relevant targeted experience in architecting engineering practices at large enterprises.
* Four-year bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. MBA preferred.
* 10+ Years of prior SW industry experience required.
* Candidates should have a strong hands-on background in the IBM Sterling Order Management capabilities (Sterling Distributed Order Management, Selling and Fulfillment, Global Inventory Visibility, Reverse Logistics)
* 7+ years' experience working in retail/wholesale/ supply chain domain is highly valued.
* 7+ years of experience leading, building and developing a project delivery/product management group focused on continuous improvement and productivity initiatives
* 4+ years' experience working as a developer with Java as the backend, and any front-end Java-script based packages
* An abundance of the "Right Attitude": Must be able to roll up your sleeves and get hands dirty with bug fixes, builds, code enhancements and testing when push comes to shove
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in both technical and analytical domains
* Experience and understanding of new and upcoming technology trends -- API / Micro-services, Agile / Dev-Ops, CI / CD
* Strong in Supply Chain domain and hands-on experience with IBM Sterling OMS
* Ability to create excellent working relationships across the enterprise
* Self-driven with an ability to work and thrive in an ambiguous environment
* Have an excellent analytical thought process and ability to build innovation-led solutions & business models

* Excellent communication & presentation skills

Additional Qualifications / nice-to-have...

* Enterprise-wide IT experience that includes hands-on solution development on OMS, Dev-Ops engineering, and Enterprise architecture
* Design / implementation / consulting experience with distributed applications
* Experiences with Continuous Integration tools, like Jenkins or Bamboo
* Release Management Processes, Coordination, and Planning Process and connecting points with Dev-Ops and CI/CD
* Skills related to containerized environments and technologies like Docker, Kubernetes will be highly desirable
* Experience with version control systems such as Subversion and Git
* Agile Scrum/Kanban familiarity and experience working in an Agile environment
