About the Team

You will be part of the Technical Infrastructure team responsible for designing, building and delivering key technical building blocks such as Servers, Storage, Networking, Voice, Databases, Data Centers, Service Desk and Monitoring tools. Our job is to ensure that every WSI location, associate and customer has the best experience possible utilizing our vast array of technical solutions we provide.

About the Role

In the Senior Telecom Engineer role, you will be responsible for building and supporting Williams-Sonoma's voice networks in our data centers, retail, care centers and corporate locations worldwide. You will work with other voice and data network systems engineers and internal customers to implement solutions that are robust, reliable and, most importantly, meet business requirements.

* Analyze telecom problems and needs (e.g. interference, intelligibility, clarity, etc.) to determine the most appropriate means of reducing, eliminating and/or avoiding current and future problems and improving communications.
* Ensure that telecom documentation (diagrams, MOPs, etc.) are kept current.
* Implement scalable and reliable telecom solutions working with other team members and neighboring engineering groups.
* Develop integrated solutions through collaboration and proactive communication with the Infrastructure team.
* Participate in the team's on-call rotation.
* Plan, design, engineer and construct telecom systems.
* Determine appropriate configurations of telecom hardware and software to ensure the desired performance of telecom equipment.
* Research, gather and compile relevant technical information to enhance, modify and maintain assigned networks and telecom systems.
* Evaluate new products and services from vendors to determine applicability to hardware, software, networks and telecom systems in use by our Corporate, Stores, Distribution Centers, Care Centers, and International sites.

We're excited about you because...

* You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
* You have 10+ years of Telecom Experience
* You have 5+ years of Core Networking Experience
* You are skilled at diagnosing and solving complex problems and providing detailed technical analysis
* You have superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others
* You have superior computer skills including business applications such as MS Windows and MS Office including Excel. Word and Visio
* You have knowledge of theory and principles of project management
* Technical Competencies required:
* Understanding of numerous network/telecom protocols such as OSPF, BGP, SIP, H323, DNS, DHCP, QoS, MGCP, Skinny, etc....) in addition to WAN communications protocols including MPLS, DWDM, OC carrier.
* Hardware/Software: Solid experience with the full range of Avaya (CM6/7/8, IP Office, Partner, G450, G430, PBX, ACD), Cisco (CUCM, SRST, ACD) and Microsoft Enterprise Voice.
* Knowledge and understanding of Care Center Call Recording, Speech Analytics, and Workforce Optimization.
* Knowledge and understanding of various SBC's; Oracle, Audio Codes, etc....
* Understanding of cloud and on-premise telecom deployments.
* Strong capabilities in authoring technical documentation including HLD/LLD/NIP.
* Basic scripting skills in Python and PowerShell a plus.
