About the Team

You will be part of the Technical Infrastructure team responsible for designing, building and delivering key technical building blocks such as Servers, Containers, Storage, Networking, Voice, Databases, Data Centers, Service Desk and Monitoring tools. Our job is to ensure that every WSI location, associate and customer has the best experience possible utilizing the vast array of technical solutions we provide.

The vision of the Enterprise Tools team is to drive efficiency and innovation across the organization in respect to enterprise-level tools. The team drives efficiency by providing tools that help to streamline processes and tasks that are currently performed in the organization. We help drive innovation by continually improving our existing tools and providing "value add" options of adding new tools to our environment. Our customer success is paramount to the organizations success and ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience

About the Role

In the Senior System Engineer role, you will be responsible for building, managing and administering an enterprise scale Elastic cluster. The position is as rewarding as it is challenging, and we see the progress made so far as a solid first step

Additionally, you will ensure the cluster continues to run under optimal conditions and will work across all other teams to ensure proper ingestion of various logs by Metricbeats, Filebeats, Logstash, and Packetbeats. Alongside team members, you will also be developing integrations with other tools which make up other aspects of our service management functions within the organization. Common troubleshooting task include Evaluating existing Elastic cluster configuration parameters, query performance tuning, managing unassigned shards, and determining root cause of node cluster failures.

This role reports to the Manager of Enterprise Tools.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We're excited about you because...

* You have a BS or MS in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
* You have experience with building, managing and administering and enterprise scale Elastic cluster
* You have a minimum of 5 + years in related work experience
* You are familiar with the principles of DevOps
* You have superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others
* You are proficiency working in a complex, dynamic technical environment

Technical Competencies Required:

* ELK 6.X large clustering experience
* Index curation/retention management and retention policy experience
* Advanced dashboard creation
* Solid grok experience
* Filebeats
* Desired Skills: Kafka integration, Packetbeats, Metricbeat
