About the Role

As an Engineering Manager -- you own the teams and platforms for current and next-generation integration that enables Williams Sonoma systems to work seamlessly across the enterprise and channels.

You will be an integral member of the Integration Technology leadership team leading team members across multiple locations. You will also be a strong voice in the larger WSI Tech organization building a world class Technology organization.

* Implement scalable and robust data integration platform with emerging technologies
* Ability to see the big picture from business perspective and drive the platform maturity
* Work with product and technology members to drive the adoption of the new integration platform
* Continuously evaluate and find opportunities to grow platform KPIs
* Participate as a member of the engineering leadership in setting and executing strategy for the team
* Data Integration is the backbone at Williams Sonoma -- ensure continuous availability and compliance objectives of the company
* Execute the "follow the sun" production support model with geographically distributed teams
* Facilitate and encourage continuous education efforts for your team both on key technologies and also the Williams-Sonoma business domain
* Provide clear, specific goals to the team and communicate performance feedback regularly through regular 1-1 meetings and performance reviews

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We're excited about you because you have...

* Deep expertise about messaging infrastructure and integration patterns with in depth knowledge from design to runtime optimization.
* Deep expertise with Kafka (Apache/Confluent versions) and successfully implemented Kafka from ground up.
* Additionally, built and maintain messaging servers, SSL certs, networking skills and must be fluent in working with UNIX based operating systems.
* Deep expertise in implementing monitoring/alerting tools Like Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, ELK, App Dynamics
* Experience promoting teamwork, inspiring and motivating people to fulfill their potential
* Managed day to day engineering activities -- platform upgrades, patching, DR failover/failback exercises, SOX compliance, 24/7 on call schedule management, infrastructure resources forecast/planning -- CPU/Memory/Storage
* Experience in stabilizing and tuning middleware, messaging servers, application servers, database servers for scalability and optimal performance.
* Proficient in continuous integration capabilities and technologies - CI jFrog-Artifactory, git, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins CI, Docker, Kubernetes
* Proficient in infrastructure scripting languages python, shell, java, pearl...
* Experience in developing software with one to many programming languages like Java, Node JS, Java Script and Python.
* Working experience with Oracle/Cassandra/MySQL or database technologies.

Required Qualifications...

* Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
* 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering
* 3+ years of team leadership experience in a dynamic technology organization
