JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage the day to day activities of the maintenance organization, make sure equipment availability exceeds 99% at all times as it pertains to material handling and facility related equipment; take care of employee relations, set expectations and goals of the group and specifically on an individual basis; make necessary purchases and monitor the service contract business; make sure budget compliance occurs and we get the lowest possible price for all goods and services purchased; provide trouble-shooting techniques and participate on the floor in addressing equipment issues; make sound decisions as it pertains to equipment related malfunctions and provide direction to team when needed; provide input on capital expense projects and provide input on various system changes; communicate and follow-up with various operation managers; oversee safety programs established and ensure proper training and techniques are used; resolve and handle all employee related issues which includes discipline, hiring, and termination, if approved.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Manage the maintenance team to ensure equipment availability of at least 99% on all material handling and facility related equipment. This can only be accomplished through your daily involvement on the floor and a thorough PM program in place. You must participate in all downtime issues when available.
* Manage and monitor the budget to ensure compliance in all areas. Eliminate the use of outside services as often as possible. Ensure we are getting the competitive price on all goods and services purchased.
* Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment through prevention, safety education and awareness, problem correction, improved employee training, and communication to all levels. Elimination of all poor safety habits is a requirement, eliminating all unnecessary accidents due to careless work habits is our goal. Your daily involvement on the floor is required to hit this.
* Development of your team's technical skills and your own personal technical skills is required. With the work place and technology-changing daily, updating your skill set is needed. Break this down for your team on an individual basis providing feedback, setting expectations, and providing follow-up for each.
* Provide written documentation on all maintenance activities to include system malfunctions, weekly timesheets, dollars spent on supplies, inventory accuracy, projects plans and results, and projects planned.
* Communicate effectively with the operations, engineering and projects teams.
* Recruit and hire top talent.
* Establish relationships with vendors and hold them accountable to established written agreements.
* Cross-train yourself and your team across the Olive Branch and Memphis campus so you and your team are familiar with the details on the material handling equipment in each building.
* Seek opportunities to benchmark with other organizations.
* Flexibility and willingness to work various shifts.
* Other job duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum Required: 2 year associate degree,
* Supervisory/Management Experience: 5-7 years in an industrial maintenance environment or in distribution.
* Electrical and mechanical knowledge including hands-on experience.
* Computer literate
* PLC understanding
* Controls Experience
* Able to read blueprints and diagrams
* Experience with forklifts and hand tools/heavy lifting

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant standing, walking, moving

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 4 year bachelor degree or Work Experience: 10 years in an industrial maintenance environment.
