JOB DESCRIPTION

Record, process, and reconcile merchandise invoices, foreign wire, and freight transactions. Document the process and maintain appropriate supporting documentation. Ensure the approval, accuracy, and timeliness of payments while maintaining established service levels. Monitor payments for compliance with company policy and reconcile vendor statements. Recommend process improvement and procedures where necessary.

* Record, process, and reconcile merchandise invoices, foreign wire, and freight transactions.
* Review payments to ensure proper support documentation and approval.
* Reconcile vendor accounts on a timely basis and prepare general ledger accruals for transactions not yet processed. Review and address RNI/INR vendor aging.
* Work with Inventory Accounting and Cash Management to ensure that closing duties are performed in a timely manner.
* Interface with vendors to address payment issues and work with internal customers to review payment documentation in accordance with company policy.
* Mitigate receiving and purchase order discrepancies. Recommend corrective action to ensure compliance with proper purchase order policy and receiving procedures.
* Assist in the improvement of the accounts payable payment system to address inventory issues. Propose solutions to correct accounts payable problems/issues.
* Review and provide guidance related to company policies/procedures. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
* Special projects to address Corporate Initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Associates degree in Accounting preferred.
* Strong PC skills (Excel/Word) required. Lawson A/P, JDA, IPMS, PKMS experience preferred.
* 2-4 years Accounts Payable experience preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
* Ability to analyze data and produce reports to assist operations.
