About the Role

The CMO SVP of Operations is a seasoned leader with a track record of success in a fast-paced distribution center and supply chain environment including developing people, safety performance, managing change, and continuous improvement. They serve as the key point of accountability for facility operations with responsibility for performance in production safety, quality cost, customer service, productivity, operational efficiency and associate relations. This position oversees the management of all areas of the facility and directs activities so that approved products are shipped on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. The SVP of Operations will build, develop and manage an operations leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and execution excellence. This position is responsible for WSI's e-commerce fulfillment functions and delivery.

* Be responsible for the development and formulation of long-and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives for the distribution centers.
* Develop the operating plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of operations to ensure that products conform to customer and quality standards.
* Review performance against operating plans and standards; provides reports on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans.
* Ensure operational performance, metrics, and results exceeds customer expectations (and competitive benchmarks) across all functional areas within VSP Retail operations
* Formulate and recommend policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the distribution facility.
* Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost.
* Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.
* Drive a culture that emphasizes a "People First" environment, open communication, empowerment, recognition and workplace safety.
* Build and manage the CMO leadership team strategically, cost effectively and with the highest attention to quality
* Initiate and coordinate major projects (e.g. facility layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
* Understand profit and loss, accounting functions and the relationship of operational activities and decisions.
* Negotiate agreements with vendors and collaboration partners.
* Partner with Human Resources to deploy leadership development opportunities, building a diverse workforce, and introduction of change management concepts to build an engaged workforce.

* You have a 4-year bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field
* 10-15 years successful experience leading a large Supply Chain distribution operations organization or operation
* Previous Supply Chain Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Development or Engineering experience in omni-channel retail, consumer products and/or manufacturing
* Demonstrated success in the management of costs, resources, technology, operational processes and systems; and in the leadership of people
* Strong executive presence and leadership competencies (Results Driven, Professional Maturity, etc.).
* Superior intellectual rigor, strategic thinking, collaboration, business and financial acumen skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities; problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional or tactical level.
* Ability to perform complex business analysis, forecasting, budget planning and project management
* Demonstrated success in the management of third-party providers in the areas of warehouse operations, value added services and transportation.
* Startup mentality: scrappy, creative, and focused on continuous improvement
* Demonstrated knowledge and use of industry and Supply Chain best practices and methodologies
* An intimate understanding of the use of various cutting-edge Warehouse Management Systems and how they relate to inventory control and fulfillment accuracy
* An accomplished Strategic Thinker who has enhanced and improved operational performance in a fast- paced warehouse distribution environment
* A hands-on operator with a strong leadership presence and with experience in a complex multi-channel and omni-channel retail environment
* Reputable Corporate pedigree: Big Box Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Manufacturing, Parts Distribution, 3PL Logistics
* Experience successfully working with large communities of diverse hourly non-exempt employees; strong PAR advocacy skills.... Cultural fit

Preferred Qualifications:

* MBA, M.S. degree (concentration in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain. Operations or related field)
* Continuous Improvement, Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management Certification
* A wide range of logistics experience which may include start-ups, business turnarounds, expansion, new technologies, automation and/or robotics implementation and equipment additions
* Change management experience including products, processes, WMS, robotics and/or automation
* Experience with the implementation and execution of DTR, DTC and final mile home delivery and other strategic fulfillment solutions.
* Ability to manipulate large quantities of data to drive business decisions is a must -- expert in Microsoft Excel required and expert in Microsoft SQL a big plus
* Executive level leadership experience in a complex multi-channel, omni-channel and e-commerce driven retail environment
