As the Logistics Planner, you'll manage the day to day workflow and execution of the outbound furniture freight network. This includes directing the logistics coordinators' daily tasks and serving as the primary point of contact for issue resolution for the whole network.


* Responsible for a varying mix of WSI freight movements.
* Work with WSI carriers, warehouses, hubs, vendors and buyers to insure freight is picked up and delivered on time.
* Maintain carrier performance reporting and meet with core carriers on a regular basis to insure they meet and/or exceed established KPI's.
* Other responsibilities include adding new carriers, rate negotiations, drop trailer pool management, TMS data maintenance, network wide load tracking & tracing, working with coordinators to drive process continuity and efficiency.
* This role will have metrics-based goals and be responsible for annually established special job objectives aimed at improving cost, speed and efficiency to the WSI freight network.



* At least 2 years of transportation experience and/or 4-year degree in Engineering, Transportation/Logistics or related business field required.
* Successful candidates will bring creative solutions and new ideas to existing processes and procedures.
* Strong leadership, communication, organization & project management skills are mandatory.
* Candidate must be able to quickly analyze data and other input sources to resolve critical business issues and make fact-based decisions.
* A good understanding of freight, distribution and supply chain terminology is strongly preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Outlook required.
* Competency in data query languages such as SQL preferred.
* The ideal candidate will have leadership capabilities and the ability to take on additional/larger responsibilities as their skill set progresses.
