JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist administers Human Resources policies, procedures and programs. In addition, assist management with identifying and executing solutions to human capital issues. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas, but not limited to: departmental development, writing and implementing policies and procedures, recruitment, compensation, HRIS, associate relations, training, benefits and employment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Develop and implement Human Resources programs by providing quality and timely advise to management, including talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, benefits, training and development, records management, associate relations and retention.
* Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommends courses of action.
* Improve manager and associate performance by identifying and addressing problems and implement solutions
* Coach and counseling managers and associates.
* Support organizational change through direct participation in communication, planning and project management in partnership with management.
* Conduct new associate orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
* Maintain HRIS & Payroll compliance record-keeping including statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
* Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for associate termination and make recommendations that improve retention and associate engagement.
* Acts as a consultant/advisor for managers and associates regarding associate relations and performance issues through one-on-one, small group and/or department meetings.
* Responsible for developing and implementing associate communication strategies to create and maintain an environment that delivers desired business results and supports associate engagement and WSI's People First philosophy.
* Investigate and resolve associate concerns and complaints in partnership and collaboration with local management team.
* Identify and resolve all at-risk conditions in partnership with HR staff and management.
* Provide specific advisement to managers in order to improve leadership effectiveness.
* Ensure compliance with federal and state laws governing various aspects of human resources including staffing, associate
* Conduct orientations, corrective actions, training programs & development initiatives.
* Complete special projects by established deadlines, conducting research, and developing and organizing information.
* Manage performance review process.
* Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
* Enhance department and organization's value by exploring opportunities to continuously add value and making WSI the employer of choice.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelors Degree.
* Three (3) years Human Resources experience, with generalist responsibilities.
* Strong MS Office and Outlook experience.
* Strong analytical capability in employment law and problem solving.
* Clear communication and professional interpersonal skills, with an innovative and proactive spirit that adapts quickly to a distribution and manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Masters degree.
* PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certifications.
* Bilingual (Spanish or Vietnamese)
* Five (5) years of HR Generalist experience.
* Two (2) years experience working in a distribution environment.
* Experience with Kronos and Lawson
