Lead product development efforts for Decorative Accessories, creating innovative, functional and stylish items for all channels. Support the buying group's design/development needs. Identify key trends, build seasonal concepts, refine design presentations, execute deliverables, and ensure all product development deadlines and key calendar dates are met.


* Lead and manage daily functions of the Decorative Accessories design team.
* Through clear understanding of department design and business objectives, guide the PD team and design process from initial concept through approval. This means:

* Assist in internal design decision making during day to day activities.
* Guide designers as required with direction and inspiration.
* Review designers' drawings, full scale prints and comment forms for accuracy and completeness before they are issued.
* Advocate for design during weekly PD meetings.
* Assist and lead during design presentations.
* Assist in the seasonal concepting process for relevant categories. This means:

* Gather market data on key trends and competitor initiatives through comp shopping, trade show attendance, etc., and integrate into seasonal concepts and strategies.
* Work with director and other design leadership to assemble seasonal concepts.
* Create concept boards.
* Assist in presentation of concepts to internal and cross functional partners.
* Drive calendar to ensure all deadlines and key dates are met.
* Assist staff members in managing their workload as required. Step in to assist in day to day work (drawing, specification, presentation) when needed. Recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results.
* Travel as needed to factories and buying shows domestically and internationally.
* Reports to design director.

* Minimum 6 years professional experience required
* Degree in design or equivalent experience.
* Experience with drafting and ability to quickly review and comment on drawings.
* Knowledge of 3D modeling, and rendering a plus.
* Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Outlook are essential.
