We are looking for a strong designer to work across categories for both hotel and contract product. Our team consists of interior designers and product developers. Our Hotel projects involve working with the interior designers to design and develop unique guestroom product for all hotels in the pipeline. Our role on the Contract side is to support the Business Development team from a design perspective and involves anything from designing and developing our own unique contract product assortment to modifying existing product for various clients, and everything in between. The Designer should have experience working with a variety of materials and understand how to execute strong, unique designs, from a concept-level to technical-level. The Designer will work on a small, but growing team and will report to the Director of Design.

Essential Functions:
- Work across product categories, including upholstery, case goods and lighting. Execute design process for a given project.
- Research and maintain an understanding of seasonal trends, themes, concepts, color, fabric and styling and/or product form function and manufacturing processes.

- Maintain consistent brand "P.O.V" (Point of View) and "P.O.D" (Point of Difference) .
- Use Strong Sketching and problem solving skills to assist in the creation of designs that support given price points and overall creative direction.
- Ensure product design package is complete, accurate and handed off to Williams-Sonoma Agents and Vendors on time. Track and maintain products throughout the development life cycle until products are approved.
- Work collaboratively to create presentations of concept and sketches for designs at each phase of the process.
- Communicate effectively both internally and with international partners to ensure product execution according to design intent.
- Use strong organizational skills to maintain finish and design library.

- Maintain excellent time-management skills to deliver on deadlines.
- Function well in a team setting.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
- 4-6 years product design experience
- 4-year college degree with a BA in a related design field required
- Excellent communication skills

- Strong ability to be pro-active and entrepreneurial with short-term and long-term projects

- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong ability to produce technical drawings
- Fluency with InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Rhino, Keyshot. Familiarity with Sketchup and Solidworks a plus

- Knowledge of contract furniture, finishes, materials and specifications
