The Sourcing Department is responsible for managing the development timeline, vendor cost negotiations, production, on time shipments, logistics and returns. West Elm Sourcing is a part of the Williams Sonoma Global Operations division that is a shared service team who supports all Williams Sonoma Inc brands across the globe.

This is a team player who is engaged, team oriented and passionate about the product. This person is responsible for supporting their team in all aspects of the business in order to achieve the end result. This person is highly communicative, able to provide recommendations and solutions to problems and/or improve current processes. This person is resourceful, very detail oriented which helps whenever priorities may shift day to day in order to meet the needs of the business. This person will work closely with cross functional teams both in our office as well as in-country to our vendors; a candidate who can interact and communicate effectively with associates of all levels in all time zones will be successful in this role.

Essential Functions:

* Determines where product will be sourced by using global knowledge of country and vendor's core competencies. Awareness of market rates for currency conversion, labor rates, etc needed.
* Communicates daily with vendors to monitor the progress of new developments and current production. Process and communicate status to internal planning and merchant teams.
* Aggressively negotiates costs to ensure IMU targets are met for the Brand.
* Tracks productions weekly to ensure new items are tested by QA and Packaging Labs resulting in on-time deliveries.
* Runs weekly Product Development Meetings with Merchants and Design to review status of new developments.
* Runs reports and participates in Cross Functional Meetings with Inventory, Order Management Specialists and Merchants to inform them on the status of any late deliveries or quality issues.
* Collaborate and develop close working relationships with design, merchandising, production, QA, sourcing offices and vendors to ensure the quality and integrity of the design is achieved and upheld.
* Focus on Quality Assurance to analyze multiple reports and meetings to ensure WSI standards. Trouble-shoots escalated issues and initiates inventory inspections.
* Experience in FlexPLM or similar product management systems. Associate will maintain internal and international cross functional team seasonal timelines.
* Executes direction from management team.
* Some international travel required.

* 4+ years college degree (BA/BS).
* 3-5 years production, sourcing, QA or buying experience in a retail or manufacturing organization
* Knowledge of appropriate markets to source
