The color manager is the main person in charge of leading and overseeing the west elm color process from shoot to final delivery. He or she will report to the production manager, manage two retouchers and work closely with catalog production, catalog and Ecomm design, Ecomm produc- tion, Photo and merchants. Color manager is responsible for organizing photo assets on the DAM, retouch complex compositions (strip-ins, window scenes, ...) for catalog and special projects and assist the Ecomm team with marking up color, retouching and cutting silos. The color manager at- tends high level photo review meetings to collect execs feedback and be the liaison with third party vendors to make sure assets are being worked properly. The color manager needs to be up to date with industry's standards and the latest in imaging technologies to assist in proposing updates and changes in workflows in order to elevate quality and increase efficiency

Essential Responsibilities:

* Oversee the color process from post shoot to final delivery.
* Work with Production Manager to markup color and relay any information to color vendor.
* Assist with retouching images for catalog as needed; specifically complex comps, precise color corrections, strip ins, window scenery amongst other special requests.
* Assist retouchers with retouching requests when needed.
* Assist Ecomm with marking up color.
* Edit photo shoot guidelines.
* On board photographers and digitechs.
* Act as point person to color vendor for retouching rounds.
* Act as point person to our internal DAM for other west elm employees.
* Manage assets archiving process.
* Order stock photography, organize and share assets.
* Attend photo shoots as needed to assist with special projects that require an imaging perspec- tive (i.e. Strip ins).
* Attend seasonal Press Oks (minimal travel may apply).


Requirements and Qualifications:
* Must be a Photoshop pro.
* 4 years or experience in an Imaging capacity (retoucher being preferred).
* At least 1 year of management experience.
* Ability to lead a team and delegate effectively.
* Ability to multi-task and be highly organized.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Able to identify issues and problem-solve.
* Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
* Working knowledge of print and digital color spaces and processes.
* Knowledge in Print Production and Pre-Press with experience in tracking high volume images.
* Working knowledge of InDesign and Acrobat.
* Familiarity with production tools like project management platforms (basecamp, opal, ...)
* Familiarity with Data Asset Management systems.
* Knowledge of technical aspects of photography a plus.
* Knowledge of Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects a plus.
* Occasional travel.
