The Supply Chain Optimization team is responsible for the planning of strategic and operational initiatives to allow the business to drive sales, inventory, and profit objectives. Operating efficient business processes allows our brand flexibility to continue to be an innovator in the field and create new opportunities for the brand and individuals to grow, as well as create customer satisfaction.

The Assistant Supply Chain Analyst impacts the organization by overseeing the merchandise specifications for product and the impacts on the supply chain and network operations. This role is a key player in assisting with vendor negotiations for packaging and making recommendations to improve efficiency, impacting the supply chain directly and the environment the entire team works within. The ideal candidate will align with the brand by bringing creative thinking and innovation to help drive profitable business decisions. As west elm grows and expands in new marketplaces and broadens its supply chain footprint, the planning and execution of efficient supply chain strategies is crucial to maintaining market leadership and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

* Responsible for running and analyzing weekly and ad hoc reporting

* Assist Merchandising team in negotiating domestic vendor packaging to balance merchandise costs, down-stream operating costs, and vendor ability, while supporting the strategic initiatives of the brand
* Create SKU setup and maintenance SOP's to support training and improve downstream inventory accuracy
* Coordinate time and action plans to resolve QA held inventory or products driving DC repackaging costs
* Partner with Inventory Management, Sourcing, Distribution Center Operations, and Logistics teams to investigate problems and develop solutions to maintain an efficient supply chain

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

* 1-2 years of experience in operations, inventory management, or sourcing
* Strong analytical thinking skills
* Time management and communication skills

* Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suite
* College degree preferred

* Understanding of retail supply chain
