About the Team

You will be part of the Product Engineering team, playing a critical role in transforming product designs to manufacturable products. We partner closely with our Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams to ensure that our products can be brought to market while maintaining the high quality and beautiful aesthetic that defines our brand.

About the Role

You will be part of the Product Engineering team responsible for new products throughout the entire new product development process. You will develop, manage, and maintain all levels of technical information including CAD drawings, product specifications, technical illustrations, quality requirements, and manufacturing instructions.

* Collaborate with Design and Product Management in the early stages of product development; provides feedback on manufacturability, estimated cost, UL requirements and form, fit and function
* Develop appropriate drawings, routings, procedures, and manufacturing instructions to support product development and production activities
* Identify potential suppliers and completes First Article inspection reports
* Create and maintain bills of material in ERP system
* Coordinate prototyping and provide necessary documentation and instruction to support Production activities
* Work on multiple new product projects under deadline; often working independently to move projects forward
* Provide input to product development schedules and budgets, working to meet market and profitability goals
* Work with multiple teams to improve product design for manufacturability, ease of assembly, and reduction of product cost
* Collaborate with Inspection to improve product quality and inspection criteria, root cause defect analysis and facilitate the constant improvement process
* Provide excellent support and service to our internal customers

We're excited about you because you...

* Have a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering
* Have a minimum of 2 to 6 years of experience in new product development
* Have experience with Solid State Lighting/LED Technology (preferred)

* Have experience with spinning, stamping, forging, casting manufacturing processes (preferred)
* Have experience with World Class Manufacturing/Lean/Toyota Production System principles, TPM, 6S (preferred)
* Have experience with Microsoft Dynamics
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization

Technical Competencies required:

* Experience in using CAD/CAM software for product development

* Proficient use of MS Office Products, Autodesk 2-D and 3-D CAD software
