About the Team

You will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting production of lighting and hardware components and assemblies in our Portland factory. Our job is to insure the product is processed through the factory safely and efficiently, while maintaining the high quality and beautiful aesthetic that defines our brand.

About the Role

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for leading and assisting in the utilization and maintenance of labor management systems, facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.

* Analyze and design the sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in operations, equipment layouts, and extended value stream; establishes methods for maximum utilization of equipment and personnel.
* Perform time studies and data analysis to develop labor standards, make informed business decisions on "best practices" and measure labor utilization
* Develop optimal floor layout to improve the flow of material through production processes and inventory locations.
* Collaborate with Operations Management team provide hands on support in the achievement of safety, quality, production, and service goals.
* Analyze current operational processes, equipment, and systems for continuous improvement opportunities in workflow, costing, work construction, on the job training development, etc.
* Evaluate utilization of MRP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX) to identify process improvements vs. technology improvement opportunities.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and Facilities Management in the planning and design of facilities and operational functions.
* Liaise with production planner/scheduler for ensuring the released products have adequate BOM and routings
* Manage manufacturing documentation required for product manufacturing i.e. revise drawing, BOM, accurate work instructions and workmanship standards and process procedure
* Provide manufacturing data i.e. production control charts, reliability, process capability, to improve the process and monitor and measure progress to target
* Use Lean-manufacturing techniques to improve products and production processes
* Use data and production floor feedback to improve fixtures, tools, cell layout, and work instructions.

We're excited about you because...

* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or technically related field required
* Minimum 3 years Industrial Engineering experience in a fast pace production environment required
* Experience in a fast paced, lean manufacturing environment
* Must have strong analytical, statistical and critical thinking skills.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
* Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, specifically advanced Excel database development
* Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Technical Competencies required:

* Experienced in using CAD software
* Proficient in MS Office suite of products, including advanced Excel database development
* Experience in using Power BI a plus
* Experience in using Microsoft Dynamix AX a plus.
