Position Summary

Maximize the Outlet channel as the liquidation vehicle for brand overstocks and returns, while achieving channel profitability targets. Identify opportunities to transfer Pottery Barn products to drive margin and profits for the Outlet Division. Develop plan to coordinate and communicate information across functions and brand partners. Collaborate with Inventory Management, Merchandising, Sourcing, Store Operations, and Visual teams to ensure processes are followed and timelines met. Build strong partnerships with the Store organization to deliver great product and service to our customers. Lead and develop Outlet team, building an environment of teamwork and collaboration.



Primary Responsibilities:

* Identify the strategic direction for the division. Communicate the vision and inspire team to develop business plans and identify opportunities which keep value pricing and margin as top priorities. Implement tactical plans derived from strategy by working across functional areas.
* Right-size direct purchase assortment to complement brand transfers and returns to drive business for each store.
* Analyze sales, current trends, and the market for assortment shifts.
* Map opportunities based on historical results to maximize sales
* Review markdown strategies.
* Approve assortment and financial plans to achieve IMU% and sales goals.
* Create and manage the Outlet Master Calendar to ensure flawless delivery and execution.
* Manage promotional calendar to drive sales and margin, clear through brand returns, and excess inventory.
* Oversea transportation logistics and calendar
* Partner with DCs to clear returns inventory profitably.
* Work closely with visual merchandising to plan floor layouts for Outlet stores.
* Manage content for Outlet e-mail and social marketing, including a presence on Facebook.
* Create and manage all store contests on a monthly basis
* Travel to stores frequently to ensure standards and goals are being met
* Special Projects and assignments outlined by Senior Vice President as needed
* P&L responsibility and management
* Develop staffing and succession plans. Interview candidates and approve final candidates.
* Provide direction and clarify objectives. Mentor, educate and develop staff.


* Insightful retailer with strong entrepreneurial skills.
* BS/BA required or 8 + years of Operations and Retail Management experience.
* Buying/Merchandising experience a plus.
* Experience managing others and leading a team.
* Home furnishings knowledge preferred, but not required.
* Works collaboratively with all functions.
* Manages up and down effectively (i.e. Ability to influence and persuade key partners).
* Strong business and financial acumen.
