About the Role

Pottery Barn Store Planning Team is looking for individuals who can collaborate and thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate and foster innovative thinking skills, and apply data and intuition to develop new approaches and solve problems. As Store Planner, you will contribute to the successful implementation of Store Planning strategies for Pottery Barn Stores. You will be responsible for the strategic and tactical elements of supporting our retail locations, with a focus on optimizing store-level inventory and maximizing profitability.

* Become a champion of Store Planning strategies by developing thorough knowledge of store and tier performance through extensive analysis. Identify trends and recommend strategies to cross-functional business partners.
* Work cross-functionally with merchant and planning teams to optimize sales and margin across all store locations. Collaborate to achieve appropriate mix, depth, and breadth of inventory for each location. Continually make recommendations which seek to minimize markdowns through inventory distortion.
* Actively participate in business meetings and represent store planning analysis and perspective.
* Provide special interface to key field partners to identify opportunities, address risks and concerns, and provide insights into key initiatives and strategies.
* Own reporting tools to support store and field communication and processes.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to set up new stores, create inventory goals by division and report out on progress.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Have a BA/BS degree in related field and/or 2-5 years of retail experience in planning or allocation.
* Have sharp analytical skills, are well-versed in MS Office, advanced in Excel and are comfortable manipulating and reading data.
* Are proficient in retail math.
* Have strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
* Build and sustain successful cross-functional relationships. You have a knack for influencing business partners via consistent and pro-active communication and collaboration.
* Have proven written and verbal communication skills. You communicate effectively and succinctly.
* Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit amid a fast-paced, often changing environment.
