Head Design Manager, Table Top- Pottery Barn

Position Summary

Design products and collections using style, theme and mood. Present to Director or VP for approval.

Specific Responsibilities

* Translate trends into concepts that respond to business needs for the relevant product categories.
* Own product categories from initial Concepts all the way through the product life cycle on details, leading meetings and discussions to drive decisions.
* Develop SKU-level designs from conception through revisions to sample approval. Present to Director or VP for review and approval.
* Create presentation boards as well as participating in the physical Concept Showroom Presentation set up's that are shown to internal business partners.
* May present products and concepts to Merchandising, Sourcing and other Cross Brand partners.
* Identify ideas to be developed and collaborate with Director or VP.
* Tracks department design samples and ensures all samples are approved in a timely manner to meet all deadlines and stay on top of PLM approvals in the system.
* Email communication as well as verbal with vendors and cross-functional teams on status of products.
* Help support filing and organizing of samples and fabrics.
* Gather market data on key fashion trends considering such elements as fabrication, materials, color schemes and designs.
* Pre-develop new ideas and concepts as requested for Concept presentations.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum 4 years product design experience.
* Degree in Design or equivalent experience.
* Design skills, creative and Inspirational thinker, deadline and decision driven.
* Experience and knowledge working with textile fabrics and construction.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Thorough understanding of the lifecycle of a product
* Strong presentation skills.
* Passion for textiles
