About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic leader who is motivated, results-oriented, strategic, well-organized, and customer-obsessed. As the Manager of Email Marketing, you will develop, execute and evaluate email marketing campaigns to drive profitable sales, build our customer file, and support growth initiatives for Pottery Barn. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including eCommerce, Merchandising, Creative, Inventory, eMail Technology Deployment, CRM, and Customer Analytics to manage the email direct marketing business and achieve DTC business goals and financial plans.

A successful candidate should be analytical, highly detail-oriented, possesses an eye for design, able to build strong cross-functional relationships and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing multi-channel retail environment. In addition, develop a high-performing team who grow and stay relevant in the ever-evolving world of marketing.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

* Manage the planning, development and execution of email marketing programs, including broadly circulated brand messages, targeted campaigns based on customer segmentation, and triggered campaigns based on cross-channel customer behavior.
* Manage the creative process for all email direct marketing campaigns to deliver content that is on-brand, seasonally relevant, and compelling. Ensure marketing initiatives are consistent with site, catalog, and store merchandising strategies.
* Own the email calendar, reporting, testing strategy and operational details, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of the job.
* Analyze and communicate results including key performance metrics on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Apply learnings to future campaigns to improve results.
* Identify and implement new tests and tactics, continually seeking to innovate to drive improved results.
* Develop and manage the email address acquisition plan to continually build our file of quality names.
* Analyze competitive marketplace and stay abreast of email industry trends.
* Write effective creative briefs that include campaign objectives and strategic messaging.
* Work with internal customer analytics groups to design and implement targeting strategies, analyze and implement process improvements, and improve internal and external targeting
* Identify trends and analyze marketing programs - direct response mailings, external prospecting, customer behavior, and purchase patterns
* Support in development of monthly brand investment presentations for CEO and senior leadership
* Manage various brand initiatives -- Product launches, collaborations, weekly promotions, new store openings, New Mover program, Registry Marketing, and customer acquisition efforts
* Support cross-functional efforts to drive key growth brand initiatives
* Partner with peers on other WSI brands to share best practices in order to accelerate growth and innovation.

* Bachelor's degree required
* 5+ years eCommerce Merchandising and/or Marketing experience; Direct marketing and/or CRM marketing preferred
* Retail experience preferred
* Strategic and analytical thinker; ability to evaluate alternatives and develop effective solutions
* Ability to lead and develop a successful team
* Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment; able to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced business
* Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Proficient in Excel
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
