About the Role

This role manages the product development process from design concept through sample approval. Assists in the execution of all documentation and communication with domestic and overseas partners. Manage multiple product cycle calendars to ensure on time delivery of quality products in the assigned categories. Create and maintain sample status tracking and approvals. Proactively reacts to problems and communicates clearly and effectively to cross functional team and vendors.

* Provide new innovative product strategy on a seasonal basis.
* Translate trends into concepts that respond to business needs (e.g., price points, geographic considerations) to create new on trend designs.
* Create presentation boards that clearly communicate seasonal design point of view in a compelling way.
* May present products and concepts to Merchandising.
* Create detailed and accurate specifications from which vendors with build great looking samples on the first try.
* Effectively answer vendor questions and proactively problem solve daily to ensure samples meet desired aesthetic, price point and approval deadline.
* Manage the flow and track shipping of incoming and outgoing samples for product review meetings and seasonal concepts.
* Responsible for sample set up and issuing meeting agenda and recap for weekly cross functional product review meeting.

* Degree in Design or equivalent experience.
* 4+ years product design experience, preferably in upholstered or outdoor furniture.
* Be a self-starter and take a pro-active approach
* Someone who takes ownership and can follow tasks to completion with minimal oversight.
* Highly organized, detail oriented, deadline driven.
* Ability to juggle multiple tasks and smoothly transition between quickly and effectively.
* You are a team player, building strong relationships with cross functional team.

Technical Competencies required:

* Adobe Creative Suite
* Hand sketching skills
* AutoCAD experience a plus
