JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Team

You will be joining the Textiles Marketplace team, responsible for building our domestic marketplace assortment. We take an entrepreneurial approach to sourcing and assorting product that will surprise and delight our guests. You will work directly with third party vendors to deliver consistently fresh and new products straight to the consumer.

About the Role

In the Buyer, Marketplace role, you will be responsible for identifying assortment opportunities, white space categories and new vendors who are compatible with the brand. You will onboard new vendors and manage relationships with the existing ones. In partnership with the merchants, you will select product and determine price for the entire Marketplace assortment.

* Assist in the development and execution of a core growth initiative for Pottery Barn
* Work independently and on a quick product-to-market timeline to consistently launch newness on the Pottery Barn website
* Attend market and lead vendor meetings. Prepare business and product opportunities/needs.
* Identify trending product and make recommendations for further customer exposure through marketing channels
* Own weekly/monthly/quarterly business reporting to cross-functional partners and leadership.
* Influence cross-functional partners to deliver Marketplace goals budget.
* Manage an assistant buyer who will support you in vendor communications, sku set up and maintenance, reporting and pricing updates.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* BA/BS Required
* 5-7 years Buying/Merchandising experience
* Manager experience preferred
