About the Team

The Upholstery team is the responsible for Pottery Barn's dynamic assortment of sofas, sectionals, and armchairs. This highly collaborative team drives the merchandising strategies of its product categories across all channels, including web, catalog, and the retail floor. About the Role

In the Associate Buyer role for Upholstery, you will create and develop the merchandising and business strategies for key categories within the department to drive sales and grow the area. These categories will include fabric assortment and a strategic opening price point initiative. You will be responsible for all three channels; Retail, Online and Catalog. You also will lead identifying and recommending new product ideas for the department on a consistent basis. You will work with cross functional partners across Inventory, Allocation, Sourcing, Design, Creative and E-commerce to deliver key initiatives and product flow against our Brand calendar. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is strategic, analytical, quick to make decisions and tactical in driving teams forward. The Associate Buyer will report into a Senior Buyer.

* Lead merchandising strategies for key categories within the department
* Perform on-going competitive analysis and identify opportunities and recommend new product or concepts for Upholstery
* Complete accurate, timely reporting and analysis of assigned categories
* Recommend pricing and promotional strategies for the department
* Assist in providing final assortment with required product details to inventory partners for developing seasonal projections and buy plans
* Ensure timely dissemination of product information and promotional strategies to Marketing, Product Information, Catalog, and Store Operations teams.
* Responsible for accurate catalog proofs, website, visual packets, and signage for assigned categories. Also does website testing as required.
* Partner with a cross functional group to meet deliverables in line with our milestone calendar
* Spend equal time perfecting the assortment and customer experience in all three channels
* Work with cross functional partners to resolve and or escalate product issues; use product feedback to improve product; analyze returns reporting and recommend solutions to reduce return rate.

We're excited about you because you have...

* 3 -- 5 years of Buying / Product / Category management experience
* Ideal experience (not required) in managing a broad and diverse assortment with 300,000+ SKUs
* A high level of proficiency in MS Office Suite, including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing, flexible environment
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey vital business and product updates to key cross-functional partners
