About the Team

You will be joining the Furniture and Lighting Marketplace team, responsible for continuing the robust work building our domestic marketplace assortment. We take an entrepreneurial approach to sourcing and assorting product that will surprise and delight our guests. You will work directly with third party suppliers to deliver consistently fresh and new products straight to the consumer.

About the Role

In the Assistant Buyer, Marketplace role, you will be assisting the Buyer(s) in creating and managing a growing offering of offline Furniture, Outdoor and Lighting. You will be responsible for vendor communication and interface, data entry and maintenance in all tools and systems, troubleshooting questions and issues as they come up, and light reporting.

* Assist in the development and execution of a core growth initiative for Pottery Barn
* Create and maintain new product information and all assortment tools
* Work independently and on a quick product-to-market timeline to consistently launch newness on the Pottery Barn website
* Support merchant team with preparation for market vendor appointments
* Attend market and vendor meetings and prepare business and product opportunities/needs
* Generate weekly sales reports and provide recommendations to the merchant and ecommerce teams on opportunities to improve performance
* Identify trending product and make recommendations for further customer exposure through marketing channels
* Build strong partnerships with cross-functional partners

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* You have a Bachelor's degree, with some prior retail experience
* You are proficient in Microsoft Office suite and are comfortable with Excel functions and pivots
* You are a quick learner who can master new systems with ease
* You have knowledge of retail math and business metrics

* You are able to multi-task and prioritize in a constantly shifting environment
* You are excited to develop new ways of doing things and improve on existing processes
* You have strong verbal and written communication skills
