About the Team

The Merchandising team is responsible for developing business strategies and seasonal assortment plans to maximize the development of the brand, sales and profits for a department or assigned area. We identify opportunities and recommend new product or concepts for the department. We coordinate information across functions working closely with Design, Inventory Management, Ecommerce, Sourcing, Production, Creative Services, Packaging and Visual to ensure the process is followed and timelines are met. You will be part of the Pottery Barn Teen division, focusing on product for customers throughout their teen years and into the Dorm phase.

About the Role

The Merchant Coordinator reports to the Buyer and provides support and coordination for the merchandising team for the DTC channel. This position manages a range of business-critical tasks that are essential to our day to day operations. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and analytical skills, a keen attentional to detail, and the ability to foster relationships with cross-functional teams and peers to deliver results.

* Enter and maintain all price and cost changes for DTC, working closely with inventory partners and sourcing teams.
* Update SKU details in cross-functional documents and systems as the assortment changes on the individual and collection level.
* Manage the merchant responsibilities in our Product Lifecycle Management System from product creation thru SKU setup
* Track and open sample packages, coordinate movement of merchandise to sample rooms & warehouse, and serve as point person for sample inquiries and needs during photo shoots & seasonal presentations
* Analyze market trends and provide observations to help to determine assortment decisions

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Strong systems aptitude and deep experience in data entry
* Excel skills; experience in PLM SKU lifecycle system preferred.
* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Previous merchandising experience a plus
