About the Role

This person will execute the merchandise strategy on an ongoing and seasonal basis for their product division in collaboration with merchant, inventory, and creative teams. They will deliver against sales metrics and implement strategies to maximize conversion. This person will identify opportunities, review competitors, and recommend new concepts to drive sales and improve our customer's digital experience. They will deliver calendar milestones on-time. This role will manage an Associate and/or Assistant-level site merchandiser.

* Develop seasonal and ongoing merchandise strategies to maximize sales and achieve or exceed financial plans. This includes all aspects of the online purchase experience and shopping funnel -- from inspirational content to informational product pages.
* Analyze sales for your division to identify opportunities for the eCommerce channel. Review site metrics to connect web behavioral profiles to customer, sales, and merchandising data. Test and iterate to continually evolve the digital experience.
* Collaborate with merchant and inventory partners on an ongoing basis to review your divisional business. Share learnings and opportunities.
* Align with inventory partners to accurately execute promotions and pricing strategies. Be aware of inventory levels, backorder issues, and strategic initiatives.
* Keep abreast of market trends, consumer trends, competition, customer service issues, and eCommerce technology and dynamics.
* Develop, communicate and execute the visual merchandising strategy for your product category, including briefs to the creative teams for content development, site design, page layouts, video, photography, and design tools. Attend photo shoots to ensure accurate execution.
* Collaborate with merchant partners to identify seasonal product strategies and contribute to the brand asset development process.
* Assist in the daily marketing updates of the homepage and website. Rotate as seasonal site-wide launch lead, inclusive of calendar management, creative briefs, and daily site marketing.
* Consider our new parent journey from first baby through childhood in the development of your strategies, content, and voice.
* Participate in daily and weekly site testing to ensure correct presentation and product data integrity.
* Be available outside standard work hours during the evening or weekend on an as-needed basis to test site builds and ensure accurate product and marketing updates.
* Manage an Associate and/or Assistant-level Merchandise Manager. Implement goals and provide feedback to ensure career development.
* Attend key leadership milestone meetings.
* Meet digital initiative deadlines. Take on additional projects, as needed.

* You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field.
* You have proven analytical skills and managed an area of business to meet or exceed a given budget.
* You have superior computer skills including business applications such as MS Windows, MS Office, content management systems, and project management systems such as JIRA. You can learn in-house digital systems quickly.
* You have at least 3 years previous eCommerce or merchandising experience.
* You have a strong affinity for the product and brand.
* You have an aesthetic point of view and understand visual merchandising.
* You make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutions.
* You are well-organized, detail oriented, and deadline-driven.
* You can deal with ambiguity in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
* You have a positive, collaborative, team-oriented, and results-driven attitude.

Technical Competencies required:

* Strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications such as excel and Google docs - must have an interest in the linkage from systems to the Web.
* Merchandising math skills, including margin, comp sales or revenue, and basic P&L understanding.
