Position Summary

Day-to-day production management for packaging and collateral projects across multiple divisions

Responsibilities:

* Manages structural development of packaging in assigned categories-- includes developing prototype with vendor based on structural concept, receive & approve dyeline and material samples
* Determines packaging specifications & costs--includes working with designers to understand graphic concept, negotiating pricing with suppliers, approving specs, communicating pricing to merchants
* Manages prepress process--includes schedule/workflow management, analysis of color proofs and directing color corrections
* Manages design reproduction-- includes working with designers to advise about vendor printing capabilities, reviewing all layouts for compliance with specs, communicating color & artwork requirements to vendor, reviewing & approving proofs, drawdowns, printed samples
* manages vendor performance/execution--includes review of performance standards and WS requirements, communication of packaging components & assembly (label placement, assembly instructions, etc), review of samples, QA and troubleshooting, provide recommendations for rework, manage exception process in conjunction with internal teams and external packaging & product vendors

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* 3-4 years print buying experience
* Working knowledge of 3-d forms/ reviewing & approving dyelines
* Experience directing color correction/retouching
* Familiar with litho & flexo printing processes
* Exposure to a variety of print materials, negotiating skills
* Overseas experience a plus
