JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Merchandiser/Associate Sourcing Manager is responsible for executing Category directives globally. They are the liaison among Brand Product Development team, US Sourcing team and in-country offices, managing seasonal developments and key communications. They work in conjunction with Brand PD team, US sourcing team and in-country office to support Brand needs. Communicate and collaborate closely with Brand PD team, US Sourcing team and in-country teams is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Product Development

* Work with Brand PD team and US Sourcing team on all details upon spec out
* Work with Sourcing Manager and in-country team to allocate right product with right vendor at right cost
* Communicate development calendar, target cost and MOQ to in-country team
* Establish Time & Action Calendar for each program
* Partner with in-country team to achieve target cost and MOQ
* Ensure product quality
* Follow up on weekly progress by ensuring in-country teams update the PD trackers timely
* Communicate program approval to in-country team and ensure PO issue on time to vendor

2. Vendor performance

* Partner with in-country team to establish strategic vendor development for long term business growth
* Troubleshoot production and delivery problems, if need be
* Evaluate and monitor the performance of vendor base

3. Sourcing

* Source new products/vendors via trade shows or available resources
* Understand capabilities of our vendors
* Support speed to market

4. Development Trips

* Coordinate development trips with US Sourcing team and in-country team
* Ensure all details and samples are well prepared for in-country review

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

JOB COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCES

Knowledge

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

* Minimum 6 years of regional sourcing and product development
* Basic knowledge of manufacturing process in home furnishing products

Skills

The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:

* good interpersonal skills
* good communication and negotiation skills
* analytical and problem solving skills
* ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
* proficiency in MS Office, ie. Excel, PowerPoint, Words

Requirements

* Light travel may be required
* Those without relevant qualification but with substantial years of relevant experience will also be considered
