JOB DESCRIPTION

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is a multi-channel specialty retailer of products for the home. The Company operates in two segments: direct-to-customer and retail. The direct-to-customer segment has seven merchandising concepts (Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen, West Elm, Rejuvenation and Mark and Graham) which sell its products through its seven e-commerce Websites and eight direct-mail catalogs. The retail segment has five merchandising concepts (Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, West Elm and Rejuvenation) which sells products through its retail stores. We have an opening for the Director - Order Management Systems. This role relies on extensive subject-area knowledge to direct and manage operations support for Order Management Systems. This includes using data to understand trends, develop and implement improvements, and to manage and control of application supporting our supply chain business. This role focuses on heart of the Order Management Systems for the Supply Chain applications -- including inventory promising for direct to customer and stores, inventory sourcing, transactional visibility, order management and maintenance, credit processing -- predominately in the Sterling Order Management system.

This is a technical leadership position with deep functional knowledge in the areas mentioned above.

Position Overview:

* Implements and oversees technology projects related to these systems.
* Oversee Support operations for all Order Management functions.
* Enhance and evangelize best in class design, coding and dev-ops practices.
* Engage and partner with senior business executives to identify business issues that need technological solutions.
* Provide functional and technical leadership to the teams.
* Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within and between various project teams.
* Review budget proposals and recommend budget changes where necessary.
* Be responsible for financial management of the department.
* Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise team leads, team members, and contractors.
* Effectively communicate and manage operational and project expectation to project managers, sponsors, team members, executive management, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.
* Work with teams to develop product roadmaps.
* Vendor management
* Collaborate with other directors and managers to continuously improve the project and operational execution.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Technology field or equivalent working experience.
* 12+ years working experience in functional/technical/application management, including all aspects of operations support, process development and execution.
* Experience with Order Management systems is a must.
* Proven experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
* Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
* Solid leadership, inter-personal, and written/verbal communication skills.
* Strong focus and proven ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments.
* Ability to read communication styles of project team leads, team members, and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
* Knowledge of financial concepts, including ability to manage an operating budget.
* Ability to work effectively in a complex environment involving rapidly changing priorities.
* Excellent presentation/verbal/written communication skills to present technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to individuals of different backgrounds, technical expertise, and levels of authority.
* Experience in Retail industry.
