JOB DESCRIPTION

IT Contract Specialist

Key Responsibilities

* Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements required to support business activities.

* Manage and assist the contract negotiation and or re-negotiation process for assigned business units.

* Assist contract proposal process to ensure specifications are in accordance with business, and legal compliance requirements.
* Create and implement new and/or improved contracting procedures within the supported business units. .
* Ensure that internal contract procedures are sufficiently rigorous to ensure the protection of the company's interests while also being flexible enough that these procedures do not create a bottleneck for the business units.
* Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
* Proactively determine the necessity for amendments or extensions and determine if contracts are in compliance with contractual obligations.
* Work with business unit to define and establish full scope of contract specifications.
* Review Requests for Proposal from potential customers to whom a business unit intends to respond, providing advice regarding associated contractual risks and any exceptions or other language for inclusion in the RFP response to mitigate those risks, and otherwise participating as required in the RFP response effort.
* As needed, communicate with Corporate Accounting and Legal Departments with respect to contract reviews, threatened and actual litigation, corporate compliance issues, and other similar matters affecting the supported business units
* Deliver weekly status reporting and metrics related to contracts review.
* Complete real time tracking of contract review status in the Strategic Vendor Management SharePoint site.
* Educate and train our business partners on the SVM processes and other related content.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

* Four year undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field and related contracting courses or equivalent experience.
* 5 years experience directly related to IT, contract and RFP management
* Working knowledge of contract law
* 5 years of experience interacting and interfacing with internal audits
* Strong knowledge of PC applications (MS Office Suite including redlining Word documents)
* Knowledge of MS SharePoint and Service Now Software Asset Management tools a plus
* Strong aptitude for numbers, finance basics and ability to multi-task
* Excellent attention to detail
* Excellent Interpersonal Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* Experience with contract briefs, all forms of compliance issues; administration of contracts, contract agreements, and change orders

Desired Qualifications

* Five years experience as an IT Contracts Specialist in the retail industry
* Experience negotiating large deals
* Previous experience working with international contracts
* Previous experience working in a multi-site and multi-product-line business
* Strong understanding of IT and Retail business including e-Commerce, online Marketing and more
