JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Role

The Store Engineering Manager will be responsible for the Stores Engineering team. The Store Engineering team is made up of systems engineers and architects responsible for 600+ stores containing 10,000+ nodes. The manager will also focus on the design and configuration of store systems, and on the creation of remote application installations and processes, ensuring the technical solutions deliver business value in line with company objectives. The Store Engineer Manager needs to be able to manage technical components of large projects based on overall plan/budget, and provide the Store Engineering team direction throughout such projects. Under your technical leadership you will deploy to standards, automate service delivery, complete capacity planning and demonstrate efficient and effective use of the windows environment. The manager should also provide thought leadership within IT, serve as a mentor to the engineering staff, and understand and implement industry best practices.

This role reports to the Sr Manager of Infrastructure of Technology Solutions Services.

* You have a deep and wide understanding of Windows Operating Systems along with the retail hardware and software platforms

* You have a firm grasp of scripting techniques including WMI, Powershell, VBS

* You have strong working knowledge of security best practices for Windows and MS products

* You are very knowledgeable with Configuration, administration and performance troubleshooting experience on Windows technologies

* You have experience with configuration, administration and performance troubleshooting experience on Active Directory, DNS,DHCP, Advanced Windows Server Services,

* You have experience with configuration, administration and performance troubleshooting experience on Latest Exchange / SharePoint versions

* You have hands-on experience on Microsoft System Center technologies.

* You have knowledge of Server hardening, system monitoring, performance tuning and process mapping.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
* 10+ years of a mixture of core Server and Active Directory, LDAP, ADAM and AD LDS experience including Data Center, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure & Configuration Management and scripting

*7+ years leading technical teams that solve complex problems and provide detailed technical and business analysis

* 5+ years' experience with development of new AD schema attributes and classes as well as overall schema updates

* Superior oral and written communication skills. Ability to exhibit a commanding presence when necessary
* Superior computer skills including business applications such as MS Windows and MS Office including Excel, Access, Visio and Word. Service-Now experience a plus
* Knowledge of theory and principles of project management

About the Team

The Store Systems Engineering team is responsible for new store installations, vendor coordination/support, vendor documentation, support documentation, support training, image management, disaster recovery, software and hardware evaluations, production launches (including delivery software), post-production launch support, infrastructure support and stability, systems monitoring and auditing, infrastructure tools and software, version control, system documentation, and training.
