Manager, Engineering Infrastructure & Release

Williams-Sonoma Inc. is seeking an individual with a passion for quality, a strong technical foundation and superb organizational skills to bring excellence, automation and predictability to the release of our industry leading web sites and services. You will be responsible for honing our Continuous Integration and Delivery strategy, managing our releases to all integrated environments and establishing an enterprise release practice. You will manage several teams of talented individuals engaged in release coordination, testing and delivery of engineering infrastructure.

Responsibilities

* Oversee and coordinate all software releases for the eCommerce organization
* Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis as required on all release issues
* Own and direct our Continuous Integration and Delivery strategies
* Facilitate near constant releases to dozens of integrated testing environments
* Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and work with the engineering leadership team in implementing those that provide value
* Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams in up to four different locations
* Maintain appropriate disaster-recovery and business continuity plans for all systems owned by the eCommerce organization
* Drive continuous improvement in our release practice
* Work with our infrastructure team to acquire new hardware, software and virtualized services
* Attract, select and retain critical talent for the team
* Provide clear, specific goals to the team and communicate performance feedback regularly through regular 1-1 meetings and performance reviews
* Coach team members in key job-related skills

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

* 3-5 years' experience managing a complex software release environment
* 5+ years' experience in supporting an engineering team in building and releasing complex software products
* Experience working in an Agile environment
* Highly proficient in source code management techniques and tools
* Demonstrated leadership experience
* Technical knowledge of Linux, macOS, release and configuration management tools
* Proven experience in supporting complex environments
