Primary Functions

Record, process, and reconcile retail store, distribution center, and customer care center payroll transactions. Maintain appropriate supporting documentation that complies with SOX controls. Ensure the approval, accuracy, and timeliness of payroll while maintaining established service levels. Monitor payments for compliance with company policy and reconcile payroll issues. Recommend process improvement and procedures where necessary.


* Record, process, and reconcile retail store, distribution center, and customer care center payroll transactions in a timely manner consistent with established service levels.
* Review payments to ensure proper support documentation and approval. Maintain adequate support documentation consistent with record retention requirements.
* Accurately process direct deposit requests per the associate's request in a timely manner.
* Prepare information to support tax documentation requirements in conjunction with IRS requirements and regulations.
* Work with the Human Resources group to timely process transactions related to newly hired associates and promptly address needs related to departing transactions.
* Effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with HR and the third party payroll provider (Pro-Business and ADP).
* Ability to relate to associate needs in an understanding/patient manner and understand/resolve the issues communicated. Timely and effectively communicate resolution of issues in writing.
* Follow direction from Corporate and provide requested information in an accurate and timely manner for general ledger accruals or other transactions.
* Mitigate issues and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance with proper company policy.
* Assist in the improvement of the payroll payment system and propose solutions to correct payroll problems/issues.
* Review and provide guidance related to company policies/procedures. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
* Assist in special projects to address Corporate Initiatives.



* Strong PC skills (Excel/Word) required. Lawson HR, ProBusiness, ADP, Kronos, and TimeTracker or other timekeeping system experience preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
* 1 - 3 years Payroll processing experience required.
* Ability to work with sensitive material in a discrete manner and maintain confidentially required.
* Ability to analyze large amounts of data and produce reports to support the operations.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Overtime and weekend work may be required.
