JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description

* Serve as Analyst to support the Indirect Procurement Category Managers with responsibility for supplier management, data analysis, stakeholder support, market research and request for proposals.
* Run Requests for Proposals (Tenders) from strategy setting to contract completion for lower spend contracts
* Interface with Category Mangers to support their strategic objectives as well as to identify and prioritize cost-savings and efficiency opportunities.
* Respond to supplier service and/or quality issues to mitigate negative impact on the company.
* Support sourcing strategies to achieve lowest total cost considering aggregation of standardization of services on a national & global basis.
* Monitor & improve existing prices and service levels. Identify and drive process improvements, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
* Complete contract reviews to identify and implement Williams-Sonoma business requirements
* Conduct Requests for Proposals (Tenders); facilitate supplier productivity projects; support negotiations for one-time and longer term contracts
* Utilize Sourcing Tools (i.e. bid processes, benchmarks, competitive market data) to identify savings opportunities, company efficiencies and service improvements.
* Establish dashboards to track category spend, inflation/deflation, key projects.
* Work with other Category Managers to implement cost savings projects to leverage buy across the company.
* Develop scorecards to measure supplier performance and continuous improvement.
* Perform data analysis derived from multiple sources to summarize cost and service trends. Utilize findings to make recommendations to the business.
* Assist with developing and maintaining reporting for Indirect Material purchases
* Provide spend analysis to assist with budgets and plan
* Research and maintain a core understanding of indirect direct commodity dynamics, market drivers and conditions including major cost drivers and early trends that may contribute to increased category costs
* Periodic reporting of key government indices and economic analysis
* Assist with monitoring buying patterns and inventory levels to minimize surplus and obsolescence
* Interact with suppliers to acquire and validate required data
* All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills

* Proven track record in, communication, analytical and prioritization skills.
* Ability to bring creativity and innovation to problem solving.
* Ability to run projects end to end and overcome internal and external obstacles
* Ability to work self-directed in fast paced, multitask and matrixed environment.
* Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in English.
* Ability to analyze large data sets to identify trends and present opportunities
* Proven track record of results versus commitments.

Required Experience

* Bachelor degree in related technical field such as Finance, Accounting, Business or similar fields.
* 2 - 5+ years' experience in related field such as Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain or similar field
* 1 - 2+ years' experience in purchasing/procurement activities such as tenders, negotiations and contracts
* Experience in working and presenting financial information to develop consensus and buy-in for data-based decisions.
* Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects across different areas of the business
* Exceptionally strong written/verbal communication skills.
* Strong customer service mindset.
* Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to work with all levels and functions within the Company
* Ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company's values

Preferred Experience

* Graduate Degree / Master in Business
* Experienced with principles and procedures related to contract terms and conditions.
* Knowledgeable in benchmarking, indexes and competitive data.
* Advanced in data analysis and tools
