The Director, Product Management + Launch will report into the West Elm VP of the Workspace business and be responsible for executing the overall strategy/product roadmap for the Workspace business. This role will also be critical in the day to day success of operationalizing all new and existing products to achieve dealer and customer excellence and grow our Workspace sales. This includes product launch and product management leadership; working cross functionally to ensure operational and order management excellence for successful launches. The position will be located in Grand Rapids (with travel to NY & Toronto), working with West Elm leadership and side by side with the Inscape team in GR. They will work with numerous areas of West Elm including marketing, design, supply chain, finance, engineering and work closely with Inscape sales team, operations, supply chain, distribution, and our outside vendors. They will need the ability to communicate at the executive level of West Elm, Inscape and our dealer network.

This role will provide key input to the Workspace product roadmap - and under the leadership of the VP, be responsible for successful execution/launch of products. This involves implementing the PDL (product development & launch) process and managing all stages to drive the wider team to achieve successful launches and meet sales and margin targets. This person will also have input to the current WEW product management function for existing products including product pricing, revisions and additions. They will need to push strategic alignment with key suppliers to start increasing our reliability, growing our volume and gaining leverage in the marketplace. This position will provide the level of consistent execution needed for Workspace to successfully grow the Workspace business, providing great products and services to our dealer partners and our customer community. This role is a key part of our Workspace growth plan and the individual will have opportunities to advance within the West Elm/WSI organization and learn the consumer/retail business.

Essential Functions:
* Product development and launch execution leadership including systematizing the process and project managing cross functional teams to achieve successful product launches
* Product portfolio management and execution
* Financial responsibilities within the product development process including launch targets
* Focus on operational execution, supplier selection/management and achieving dealer/customer excellence
* Sales and dealer support
* Product design application tools
* Marketing launch support input/guidance

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
* BA in Business, Finance/Accounting, or Supply Chain. MBA preferred but not required with great experience.
* Experience must include marketing, product development & launch, application design, product pricing, finance, supply chain, sales training and product management/marketing.
* At least 7-10 years in contract office furniture experience is a must.
* Great communication skills and excel abilities required
* Travel would be about 20% of the time including vendor & dealer locations as required and West Elm HQ in NY, + Inscape in Toronto.
* Other skills include great leadership abilities, collaborative mindset and work style, ability to influence others, organized, self-starter, the ability to work autonomously, strong skills working within matrixed organization.
