Position Summary

The Textiles Designer will take on primary design responsibilities for all soft goods categories, including rugs, bedding, pillows, throws and baskets. This position will work within the seasonal concept create a consistent voice for all print and pattern textiles across categories.

Specific Responsibilities

* Gather market research.
* Develop color trends.
* Research and develop new woven fabrics and rugs.
* Develop pattern and print voice.
* Design seasonal assortment based on merchandizing and brand needs.
* Work with collaborators and artists to reinterpret their art into soft good products.
* Create presentation boards that align with the seasonal concept.
* Present product and concept ideas to design, merchandising and sourcing teams.
* Create spec packs for vendor communication.
* Participate in product development meetings, owning the development cycle for the design team.
* Work directly with overseas and domestic partners to produce designs.
* Track and project manage seasonal developments.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum of 2-3 years product design experience.
* Degree in Design or equivalent experience, ideally in textile/fibers or product design.
* Demonstrated design skills, creative and inspirational thinker., deadline driven.
* Must be proficient in Adobe Suites, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
* Strong color sense.
* Working knowledge of rug construction and weave construction for fabrics.
* Working knowledge of product development cycle, calendar, vendor communication.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
* Collaborative with an innate willingness to dig in and contribute with your team.
* Drive and motivated with the demonstrated ability to act as a true business owner.
* High standards to quality, integrity and design.
* Openness to work with collaborators and other designers.
