JOB DESCRIPTION

Rejuvenation is a multi-channel home renovation brand selling Lighting, Hardware, Bath and Utility products. The company was acquired by Williams-Sonoma, Inc Nov 2011 with the intention of growing the Company, and broadening the customer proposition by selling more than "period authentic" lighting and house parts. The brand is in the process of evolution, and aspires to becoming the digital General Store for home renovation.

The VP Brand Product & Creative is a key member of the RJ leadership team, developing and executing the brand and product strategies, reporting into the brand President or GM. The role is responsible for developing three-year merchandising business strategies to increase sales and profitability of the brand and channels. The role will identify product/category opportunities, putting designs into development with our Nicolai factory, through direct foreign sourcing, as well as leveraging 3rd party vendors to assort the brand. The role is responsible for bringing the brand strategies to life in the channels to optimize the customer experience and drive sales. This position should effectively manage information and processes across functions (Design, Inventory Management, Sourcing, Marketing and Creative Services) and be experienced at managing a high performing team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Merchandising

* Identify the long-term strategic direction for product categories. Communicate the vision and inspire team to develop business plans and identify new opportunities.
* Implement tactical plans derived from strategy by working across functional areas.
* Develop strategic assortment plans to expand business opportunities and develop product mix to ensure collections have a cohesive look and meets standards.
* Manage team of buyers
* Contribute to financial strategy and purchase plans, and focus on annual and seasonal financial plans to maximize sales and profits
* Review markdown strategies to effectively turn inventory and keep assortments fresh

Product Development

* Lead the brand's product development efforts to design and create innovative, functional and relevant items for all channels
* Develop the themes and vision for each season that reflects the mood, market trends and customer/business needs.
* Coordinate and communicate needs to designers and freelance resources to create designs that support the strategies and seasonal aesthetic for all product
* Review and approve all product specifications, final designs and final samples.
* Recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results between buyers and product development.
* Travel as needed to factories and buying shows domestically and internationally

Brand Creative

* Develop effective marketing communications that clearly position RJ as a compelling home store, generating demand for our products and services
* Lead, inspire and effectively Manage Creative Services to bring product strategies to life in stores, web and catalog

Lead and Develop People

* Develop staffing and succession plans. Hire the best team in Retail
* Determine work load for staff; recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results.
* Provide direction and clarify objectives. Evaluate and appraise performance.
* Mentor, educate and develop staff.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

*

10+ years of direct experience in Merchandising, Product Development and Inventory Planning in hard goods or home furnishing
* Retail experience strongly preferred
* Bachelor's degree in Business or Management discipline or equivalent experience is required. Master's degree is highly desired.
* Demonstrated high competency in the execution of multiple large projects, including managing resources across multiple projects to meet goals, delivery timelines and budgetary guidelines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels, and thrive in a cross-functional, evolving business and technical environment.
