The Pottery Barn Kids and Teen product development teams work cross-functionally with merchants, sourcing and vendors to drive each season's diverse product. About the Role

Under the direction of the Head Design Manager and Design Directors, and in partnership with peers, develop big ideas, product concepts and lighting designs that achieve overall product strategy and merchant objectives on a seasonal basis. Manage design execution for lighting styles and lead product development process by working with major international home-goods manufacturers/vendors.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

* Execute the entire design process for a given season within the lighting category for Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen.
* Research and develop seasonal trends, themes, concepts, color, fabrication and styling and product form, function and manufacturing processes.
* Create lighting designs that support merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction.
* Ensure product design package is complete, accurate and handed off to Agents and Vendors.
* Maintains brand "P.O.V" (Point of View) and "P.O.D" (Point of Difference) through collaboration with design peers, merchants and vendors.
* Create and deliver effective, cohesive product presentations to "sell" concepts to merchants.
* Communicate effectively through the design lifecycle.
* Develop and manage seasonal calendars and meet all deadlines.
* Use strong organizational skills and scheduling skills.
* Demonstrate effective cross-functional & vendor-relations skills.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* You have a high design aesthetic and a strong point of view
* You pride yourself on attention to detail and can balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
* You have strong sketching and ideation skills

Requirements:

* Minimum 5 years of product design experience in home goods & decorative accessories. Specific lighting experience a plus.
* Solid experience communicating with international vendors
* Ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize

Technical Competencies required:

* Full proficiency in Mac operating systems with skill excellence in Adobe Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop and Vellum
