Position Summary

Design furniture using seasonal brand strategy, theme and mood. Present to Head designer for approval.

Specific Responsibilities

* Translate trends into concepts that respond to business needs (e.g., price points, geographic considerations) for the relevant product category.
* Create presentation / mood boards.
* Gather market data on key fashion trends considering such elements as fabrication, materials, color schemes and designs.
* Develop SKU-level designs from conception through revisions to sample approval; produce product spec drawings, and vendor communication. May present products and concepts to Merchandising.
* Tracks department samples and ensures all samples are developed and approved in a timely manner.
* Partake in presentation setups; assemble and move furniture at times.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum 2-4 years product design experience. Specific furniture experience a plus.
* Understands basic furniture / carpentry construction.
* Degree in Design or equivalent experience.
* Proficient in Autocad, Photoshop and Illustrator.
* Sketching skills.
* Creative and inspirational thinker, deadline driven.
